Hello,

This question is regarding Honda City 1.5L VTEC (2001 - India).

I had the engine stall a few times (like a fuel cut-off) and then had the fuel filter cleaned.  To be sure, I then had Honda dealership service clean the fuel tank, filter, injectors and throttle body.  Since then the pick-up of the car in 1st and 2nd gear is very poor.  It is nothing like a regular car, let alone a VTEC!

Any idea what the issue might be?  The dealer service states that the throttle body needs to be replaced (Rs28k).  While pick-up was not the issue in the first place, why cleaning it has created this pick-up problem?

Any recommendations of which mechanic to go to in Bangalore for a diagnosis and correction?

thanks

-tkm

Hi,

Have they given a reason for throttle body change? What is idle speed for your car, I hope you don't see any variation in dle speed & standard is 850 with +/- 50 RPM as tolerance.

I would suggest you have car inspected by folks like http://www.carnation.in/bookaservice.php. These guys have right tools for exact diagnosis.
