Dear Vyas, Yes, modifying the engine in anyway voids the warranty. This includes fitting CNG-kits as well. You will have to wait till warranty expires or Mahindra dealers start fitting these kits themselves. Cost for CNG-kit would be around 40,000 rupees. Powerless would be around 15-20%. There is no harm in fitting CNG-kit as long as you are not concerned about the power-loss.

As Mr. Sharma said, it is possible, but it is not as easy as converting a petrol engine to CNG. It is a lot more time consuming, technologically challenging and expensive task. Firstly, most diesel cars are fitted with turbochargers, which needs to be replaced by a Supercharger ; camshaft, piston, rings, valves seats and seals needs to be changed. A new ignition system is to be installed, modifications are required to install the spark plugs.

Although it is possible, I don't find any any reason for converting a diesel car into CNG, nor I have heard any except for the buses.

Are there any service stations that fits CNG in diesel cars? How much it would cost?

I think Vyas was talking about a Petrol Scorpio, not a Diesel.
