Is that Garware film really useful? Because two of the dealers told me that it is better not to get those films for front which cost about 1200/-.

I also heard that this is of inferior quality as bubbles start appearing soon. Can any of the Garware owners comment and clear this confusion pls ?

Looking forward to the reply on query posted by live2drive. I had gone today to enquire about sun films and the shop owner suggested going for Garware Ice Cool. But reading this thread, if the quality is inferior and if the bubbles might start forming up, I would be hesitant.

My budget is minimum (around 2K) but can stretch (upto 4K) if it offers good heat reduction plus same visibility during night. Would be glad to receive any suggestions. Am looking forward to good options for front, sides and rear (Santro Xing GLS). Thanks.

A gentle reminder. Is Garware good/worth ? Would also appreciate if someone could suggest any alternative good brand (budget upto 4K) and authroized dealer in Mumbai preferably around Ghatkopar/Chembur area.

Hi Jay,

Got Garware Ice Cool Shield installed for my Windscreen and Ice Cool Elite for rest of the windows and Rear yesterday. I would be able to tell about its performance only after using it for a week. I have a 600+ kms trip planned for next week. Will Let you know its performance after that. But from the reviews of different people, this seems to be helpful. It cuts 99% of the UV rays. Ice cool shield has 70% VLT and cuts 50% of heat. Elite has 50% VLT and cuts 62% of heat. Total cost for this was Rs 7000 in hyderabad.

Regards,

Fazzy

Hi Fazzy,

Thanks for your inputs. I already got 3M sun films installed on sides + rear (not in front yet). Details are here. Do share your experience though, as it would benefit all interested members.

Regards,
Jay

Had a long trip this weekend after getting the Garware Ice Cool Shield and Ice Cool Elite installed. I was very much impressed. I travelled around 600kms (400kms in hot sun). Initially I didnt even realise the film was there as I was involved in driving and in the songs. I got down at Vijayawada to buy some snacks and then I realised how hot it was outside. Also while driving from hyderabad to suryapet at 5am, I could see that the glare of the headlamps of trucks is drasticall reduced. I am very satisfied with this film. There are few minor bubble like spots on the right window screen. I called the guy who installed and he said they will be gone in a week or 2. I hope they will be gone soon.
