Then you must visit Shimla during winters. December-Jan would be good. Do not worry about accommodation. You'll find people stopping you and offering you to take you to any type of hotel you want. You can also find decent guest house etc for your stay as well. (Its been more than a decade since I last visited Shimla so not sure how much this all has changed.)

any specific route from delhi? and how long does it take to reach shimla from delhi?

I guess the mode of transport is your car. So at least 6-7 hrs Delhi to Chandigarh if driving conservatively. Chandigarh to Shimla is 4hrs by bus as per my friend. Add 1-2 hrs for sight seeing in between  and more careful driving than the bus drivers who somehow can race their buses even in hills as they get used to it.
