Hi everyone,I hav just joined in and require some information on the mumbai - nashik - shirdi route. I will be travelling on the 17 of this month and require some information on the road conditions as I will be travelling with my family. Also had taken the goti route around a year back, since then have heard that road is now not in driveable condition. Please advise me as to which route should I take?

Hi Puneet,

When are you travelling? I also plan to travel to Shirdi shortly. Keep this thread updated with your trip details.

I will be travelling on 17/07/10. However, there's been a change in plan and we will be taking the nashik route as more members have been added and my uncle asked to take the longer route as the Goti bypass is not in good condition and it is useless to pay toll for not so good roads. Will keep you updated with the route if u are travelling after the 17th.

Puneet

Punit

Sorry for the delayed reply.

Just as per your plan go via Nasik. Ghoti road was in pretty bad shape when I went in the month of April. Now with the monsoon it must have gone worst. 90% of NH3 upto Gonde (some 20kms from Nasik) is now 4 Lane. A dream road I would say.

Nitin if you have started from Mumbai and the road you travlled was lonely then I think it must be Kalyan - Murbad - Malshej - Alephata. I know road upto Alephata, Its fantastic, but don't know after that. Malshej will be at its best in this rainy season but I think its longer and its a 2 lane road. The road is lonely and better to avoid at night. Best way is to stick to NH3 upto Nasik.

Stick to NH3 till Nasik.

I travelled last in 2006 and the road after Malshej Ghat was horrible. With very less vehicular traffic, I don't suppose that road will have been repaired.

Thanks for the route suggestions friends, will keep you all updated on the route I will take. Most probably it will be NH3 upto Nashik and then on to Shirdi.

Thank you once again.....
