Thanks Vitun, I am considering tubeless too...but then I heard somewhere that they tend to deflate if even a speck of dust gets between the tyre and the rim...

very useful discussion, friends, can i ask my doubt here,

i've Santro GL CNG of 2008. it has run around 22000 k.m. One driver told me that there is a sign of excess wear on the two tyres of left side and asked me to do the wheel balancing, when i took it to Hyundai's workshop for balancing the wheel, one service guy told me that the tyres are showing tread wear and it is now time to change it, when i asked specifically how many more km i can run, he said around 5000 to 10,000. another service guy told me you can go for another 20-25000 km more.

should i change the tyres at the earliest? what should be the size? i want to go for tubeless, which are the best suitable brands of Santro, should i change all the five tyres including the spare one kept inside (never used). or retain that and change only the four tyres used so far. whether keeping a radial tyre as spare and using 4 tubeless ok?

Size 155/70 R13, Tubeless is what Santro website says about tyre size of new Santro, can i go for this size, i'm interested in getting full wheel covers also. pl advice.

Santhanam

Santhanam, please get the balancing and allignment done. If the tyres are damaged badly, then you may have to replace the tyres of the left side only. Normal tyre life for small cars may fall between 35,000 to 45,000 kms.

155/70 R13 is the stock size for Santro and I recommend using tube type tyres with steel rims.

Try the website http://www.tyrestore.in and search for the appropriate tyres for your vehicle in their tyre selector. They do a pretty good job and the advice seem useful. The prices are nto on the website. You can call them for price. They have a tyre upsizing calculator also that i use often.

Love the drive at 60kmph - constant
