Here are my requirements/usage idea -

* Usage - Avg 800 km of city driving + 500 km of highway driving per month.

* Budget - less than 6L

* Boot Space should be considerable as on highway I'd require boot space to handle luggage for 5 people + baby pram etc.

* Diesel seems to be more viable choice for me.

* Cost of ownership is also important. Though TATA cars normally require more frequent maintenance but their spare parts/servicing cost is also less.

Currently, zeroed on(List in order of highest to lowest priority) -

- Indigo e-CS Diesel variant because of space, mileage, cheap cost of ownership.
- Ford Figo Diesel
- Fiat Punto

I had selected Indigo e-CS for above requirements, but wanted to poll the group if there are some other choices which are worthy. Going for TD today.

I live in Gurgaon, would be great if people can advise a good TATA dealer near my place.

Thanks
Amit

i would suggest you punto or indigo because you need boot space.

Welcome to carwale Amit. Seeing your requirements and the short listed cars I suggest the indigo CS. It has got ample boot space and cabin space as well. TATA claims 24 kmpl for the Indigo (ARAI approved). SO it would suite all your requirements. If not the indigo I would suggest either the Punto or the Vista. Vista is the younger sibling of the indigo. Except for the boot and engine everything else remains almost same. Vista and punto run on the same engine which is the Multijet. So driving pleasure is good with both. I suggest you take a test drive before you finally decide

Thanks for the response!

I took TD of Fiat Figo today and checked Indigo eCS and Punto as well(will take their TDs next week).

In terms of goofy features(most of them are show off but still Laughing ), Punto Emotion(not Emotion Pack) looked far ahead of Fiat Figo Titanium(Diesel) or ZXI, but it was expensive as well. Got on road quote for Figo ZXI(Diesel) as 5.3L and Punto Emotion as 5.9L which justifies the feature list. Indigo eCS GLX on road price quote recvd was 5.28L.

Will take TD for Indigo eCS and then decide, still tilted towards Indigo eCS.

MOD Comment: Don't quote immediately preceding post (quote since removed) to avoid clutter.

you mention about wanting ample boot space an no other car (in the ones you mention) apart from the indigo CS that can help you with that. If you are in a position to stretch your budget you can also look at the manza. The base model for Manza would go above 6 lacs on road.

If boot is not your concern then I would suggest you to take a look at tata vista aura+ quadrajet. Its spacious, VFM, and quiter engine.

I f boot is the requirement then only consider CS as it is the only Sedan in your choices.

Otherwise Figo and Punto are great cars both having some positives and negatives.

If cost of ownership is an issue then Punto should be your choice between Figo and Punto.

Hi, If I were you, i will go either with FIGO or with E-cs in the given budget. But if you can stretch your budget a bit, Manza will be the ultimate. All the best.

Hi, I should strictly abide u to throw out the dream of TATA car's. Indeed the have good power, good boot space. But, most of the time u will see your car in service station. I am using TATA car and, i am fed up with this. After sale sirvice is very poor. Requires maintenace alot, It will eats up your pocket well.

So except TATA car u can take FIAT PUNTO, really it is giving good responce
