Well, thanks ut the person assured me a sealed new toyota engine, beyond that I don't know.now another question which I would like to put forward is that whre can i get a diesel engine for my car which is FIAT make??

and RTO will not be much of a worring factor because I have gud contacts there who can help me out.

secondly, talking of selling my car thats what i don't wish to do, I will never sale it.I have another car as well this is our first and loved kind of car so just was thinking changing engine rather than doing an overalling of engine. So how much will a palio diesel engine cost me thats the question!!

Thanks and Regards

Er. Jasmeet Sandhu

Dear Sandhu,

In this case the best would be to go to ASC (Tata) and get their opinion and quote for the job. Since this is a major work, I would not trust any mechanic who doesnot have assess to details that the Tata ASC can have. Alternately, since you want to retain the car, why cant you overall the existing engine at the ASC. They would do a thorough job (may cost more) but you can have some accountability.

Just take your car to a reputed Tata ASC and get the feedback about changing diesel engine/rectifying existing. Pls update their feedback.

Pls take care in this regard cause the work involved is quite sensitive and the originality of the parts is crucial.

All the best.

Arun

Plz consider the cost here. Do not sell the car if u feel sentimental abt it. Also if u feel you will be at a loss if u sell it and buy a new car, then again...do not do it. Remember, u have a big spacious car for which people will pay peanuts.

If you have access to LPG or CHG fuels in ur place, then the conversion to gas fuels make sense. Also going for diesel will not be really worth it as you will also have to live with a heavy front end and its tiring in the city.

IMHO, getting the ECU remaped for low end torque and getting a gas kit will be the best thing to do.

Hi Friends , I am Fiat car lover, i love petrol as well as dieel engines, Changing a petrol engine to diesel engine is one of the best option, There is no such issues as chassis / gear box altrations . Toyota 1 N diesel engine we have fitted to a petrol palio , and the gear box is palios petrol only, the engine performance is very good , i am getting 22 kmpl NON AC, 20 kmpl with AC. Top speed of 140 i was able to touch , no vibrations nothing , the experiment was perfect. we have also fitted for one of the palio petrol engine with Tata Indica engine , we have matched tata indica engine with Palios petrol engine gear box with minor adjustments , the performance is good ,  we have taken out ECU system and done manuel wiring ,the alteration has costed me 30 k , apart from the engine.
