Yes even I was thinking tree sap, foliage or bird droppings would be responsible.

Anyways Sonofsun, I have decided to take your advice and stop using Colin henceforth. Lets see if the problem still persists.

So that leaves us with what could have happened in Jay's case. Tree sap? Wax? Anything you remember Jay?

jay where is your car paked open space or garage.

Open space !

I asked my watchman who washes the car daily. He said he uses the same cloth for all the cars (around 11 cars) parked in the building (all in open). Further said that it is likely that the cloth might have caught grease from doors etc. of any car !!!

I looked at the cloth and it was really really dirty !

I explained him the seriousness and have asked him to use a separate cloth for the windscreen and the issue has not surfaced after that. Thanks all for your replies.

Great Jay. So finally we arrived to a conclusion.  Jay I wanted to know whether I can get any second Alloyed wheel for my M800 in mumbai (my friends suggest that Mumbai's second's market for automobiles is very cheap).

Sorry, no idea at all about the seconds market. Never opted for it for my current and previous vehicles.

Nice discussion here. Very informative.

Well, what techniques do most  of you use while getting in/out of the car when it rains? With heavy rains in my region, I find it inevitable that rain water sligthly wets me and more worringly wets the inside of the car door, which houses the controls for power windows, OVRM adjustment etc. I fear that it may spoil the controls. Also once I'm inside, I do not really  know where to I place the umbrella. Can I receive advice on this? I normally place it on passenger side floor.

Open umbrella, open the door, get seated, "try to" quickly close the umbrella. I also usually place it on passenger-side floor.

While getting out, open the door, be seated, "try to" quickly open the umbrella, get out, close the door.
