For starters, check the number plate surround on both - in the GTi/GTD the outward slope on the sides face down and the lower part is not surrounded. On regular models, the numberplate is inset (surrounded on all sides) with the outward slopes on the sides facing UP (like in the pictures on Post 1).
Then there are the lower sills.
Posted by centaur Is it not possible that VW had deliberately made these changes between the European and Indian versions of Golf? I dont think the numbers will be large enough to justify an 'Indian version'. Not for the foreseeable future, anyway.
