Hi

i've just purchase a Wagon R VXi today. i want to purchase alloy rims for my new car. Will the tyre size hankook 195/45 14R be compatible with my vehicle and will it be available.

is it true that if we use alloy rims, in the long run of the vehicle, does it affect in spoiling the tyre on each side, turning radius, steering rack and box etc

pleaase suggest me a possible way to keep original or go for alloy rims?

@maclaine22-avoid the 195/45/14 on your wagon R, it will completely spoil the ride on the car.

Moreover the proposed size will wreak havoc on the suspension and affect the braking too.

Binoy is right Mclaine, the profile U hav thought abt wil surely change the ride 4or worse on ur car. Bt then again, I dnt use my car evryday, so Im happy 2 liv wid it.. But let me tell U, its a total different experience while driving on a highway !! My car simply floats nd the steering feels sö smooth.

@vicky

The maximum difference between the original tyre size and the upgrade should be below 3%.

The difference between the two tyres considered here is more than 8%-this is totally unsafe even for your santro.

Right Binoy I agree with you though it was some real good education for me, I had no idea about that. Sealed

Anyways Bro, my Santro was a Limited Edition, which when launched, had options on almost every part other than Engine!! So with the Rubber, I had opted for 175/60 R13 since mine came with Alloy wheels. I ran this combo for almost 3years without any issues and only from a month have I installed the 15" Alloys. So far have driven twice on NH's and trust me felt like GOD!! Tongue out

It's not like I would advice someone to go for this combination, but just that I am happy with this myself and its soully my opinion.

@Binoy - how did you arrive at the 8% difference between the two tyres in Vicky's case, and which parameter is different? As per what the calculation here (155/70/R13 v/s 195/45/R15) says, the overall wheel circumference is different by 3.34% from the stock.
