Anti-rust is under body coating.  Unlike teflon, it's quite useful in long run.  That may cost (outside) around 2.5K for the size of your car (Dzire).

Under body Coating cost 1800 for my Dzire with the dealer. It might be lesser outside.

Prices vary a little from dealer to dealer, and it also depends upon the brand used.

The 3M coats with warranty would cost near the 2.5-3K mark at the dealer.

Ovi could you confirm the brand that was used on your car and also the presence of a warranty card for the same with you. Thanks

Hi All,

Is it really worth to apply the “Under body Coating”?
I have used my zen for more than 5 years and last week I have sold out it for Rs. 2.27 lakhs  - and the comment from the true value person  is “You have maintained the car very well”. –
I had not applied any Teflon or Under body Coating for my car for the last 5 years –

I can’t generalize on my example but just curious on the benefit.

Todays car bodies are made with galvanized steel and if i remember correctly 10 years before most mid to higher segment car makers used to offer 'Anti-rust warranty' on their cars.

Galvanizing has become norm across the industry and now no car makers makes special mention of the same.

Inherently the car bodies are rust proof, the only areas that are still prone would be accessories attachment points.

Personal preference for the same has been two fold.

-it gives an extra layer of protection from road scars(like under body scratches) and

-it has given a subjective feeling of road noise deadening.

p.s- sorry for taking this thread off topic.Let stick to the same hence forth.

Teflon is avoidable (discussed before).

Hi Manish,

I am due to get the delivery of my Dzire VXi day after tomorrow. Did you install Reverse Parking Sensor to your Dzire? If not, did you ever felt the need of it? I heard the rear visibility in Dzire is poor because of upliftment of the boot (By the way, Same is the case with almost all the new age Sedans nowadays Laughing ). So, I am confused whether we really need the Reverse Parking Sensor (it is costly 4700/- from Maruti Dealer) or with time, we will get the habit of judging the car's rear end & then there won't be any need of that ?

Can you / someone who has Dzire driving experience guide me ?
