Hi,

I purchased a Santro Xing GLS (non-LPG) in december 2009. As of now, due to some personal reasons, I'd like to change the gearbox to Automatic Transmission.

1. Will it be possible? If yes, where can it be done (hyundai dealer/private)?

2. What will be the approx cost for the same?

3. Are there any other impacts because of the change?

Thanks in advance,

Ram

Hi,

Thanks for the link. However, the thread seems to be about 4 years old. Further, there is no AT version with the Santro Xing - this is the precise reason why i posted the above questions. Is the information in the above mentioned thread still relevant? Especially the cost?

Also, can it be done at any Hyundai dealer?

Regards,

Ram

Santro Xing had 2 AT versions earlier (since discontinued) - GLS AT & XL eRLX.

Yes, it's an expensive affair.  Can be done by the dealer.  Check about the warranty, however.

Hi Pankaj

I have bought an i10 Magna 1.2L (last April) and I want to convert it to an Automatic Version.

Can I get an estimate of the cost of converting the same and where can I get it done?

Thank you

Regds

Amit

@Amit - i20 is available in AT version, you should have waited/gone for that in the first place. Do inquire with the dealer about the cost of getting it converted to AT or you could also call Hyundai customer care (09873564645 - that's the number I have...got it from this forum if I recollect correctly).

It will be quite expensive.  People normally don't go for it.  However, you can check with the dealer, as suggested by Rohit.  Also check the company website.

You can also consult local retrofitter/expert (not all garage will be able to do it properly, I guess).
