I happened to buy a 99 Peugeot 309 petrol car as a second car for a song as my Elantra crdi is not comfortable for town drives.I find this car exciting to drive and very comfortable in rough roads with many speed breakers and potholes.Only problem is that it doesnt have a powersteering. Spares are available of course with difficulty.Mileage is also reasonable for the power it has.
What is the reason for its failure in India?

Hai Peugeot fans,
I 've a 309 peugeot GLD still running in fantastic condition.Peugeot has some problems like
lack of service back ups, difficulty in getting spares. All of this u ll forget when u drive this car .It has
excellent pick-up with more than 20km/l mileage. Most of the spares are available in Coimbatore in South India
Hello Madhu... My friend has 309 GL petrol car ... but the mileage is so bad .. its just moves 4 kms per litere ... Can you tell me what could be the problem ... since we dont have service stalls ... he is finding it difficult to get a decent mileage.. and I guess 12 kms per lit should be decent
Hi,
its great car no doubt about it but only thing is SPARES, and I have learnt that spares are available in Coimbatore (south india) and bombay it seems. for spares you can also get it from the ' BreakYards' web sites try it in the search engines (Gooogle)
All the best and have fun with309
