I am running a Wagon R Duo since last two months and have clocked 3000kms already. Have undergone the first servicing also. I run the mostly in LPG using petrol only when LPG runs out in highways or when I am outside Calcutta where I do not get any gas stations. I have run 330kms in full tank LPG (22.5lts) once. However it is erratic as I have clocked only 200 or sometimes 250 and even 280 kms in full tank in LPG. Is it because the guys at LPG pumping stations are putting air instead of LPG? In case of petrol, I have noticed I am only getting 14km/lt on highways (I drive almost 90-95% on highways) in petrol. A person told me that cars with LPG and Petrol facility gives lower mileage than only petrol driven cars. Is it true? Does driving only on LPG have any adverse effect on the engine especially in the summer time?

You were not able to fill the LPG-tank completely earlier. Do you know the exact reason? If it was due to LPG-station itself, then there are chances that they are cheating. Or if it was due to LPG-kit or some other car problem then there is something wrong with your car. Its not true that car with LPG-kit gives less mileage on Petrol. Driving car only on LPG doesn't have any adverse effect whatsoever on engine. But yes, you should not cold-start your car on LPG, try starting it on Petrol then switch to Petrol after a couple of minutes.

Cold starting i guess,is not possible in WagonR Duo... even if we try starting it on LPG..it starts on Petrol and then switches to LPg...

Thi sinformation here was very useful to me.....i would love to know more about the Wagon R Duo's performance on LPG as well as Petrol..... my Lxi Duo is hardly a week old as of  now...so i m excited to know more about the Car's efficiency.

wait a minute.... now i've got a question, related to cold starting.

Agreed, that one should not start the engine on LPG,but is it also recommended to turn-off the car on the petrol mode,or is it okay to switch it off in the LPG mode. (given, that the car will ALWAYS be started on Petrol ONLY).

waiting for your answer...

take care.

I always use the car in Auto mode, which takes care of the start and stop problems. Btw, I am getting a mileage of around 9 these days with AC on 95% of the time. Is that normal? I was expecting at least 11-12 with AC on. Do I need to get some servicing done?
Also, I face issues with the gears. The gear changing is not really smooth.

hi...are from New Delhi....

well i am form New Delhi,i've purchased this car (Wagon R Lxi Duo) this month only... and it would be good to share some more views with you.

600 sumthin is wat i've covered till now.

on LPG its giving me an average of 13-14 with veyl little use of A.C (in money terms u can say 2 Rs/km.

But it mite b a fraction less than that since i start it in auto mode and b4 stopping i switch it back to petrol.

People tell me average gets better after servicing..(but whether its a fact or a myth,Bhanwari must be knowing...)

Anyone here from New Delhi who owns a Wagon R Duo,pls share sum experiences with me.

waiting for your reply sir...

although i personally feel there is sumthin wrong with Mr Shrikant's avg.  it cant be 9 !!....LPG costs abt 27 in New Delhi... and that means the running cost is Rs 3/km !!....which is almost equal to the running cost of Petrol !!... i am sure the car needs some tuning.

I too have the wgn R Duo Lxi (New Delhi), it has run around 600km and without any service it is giving milage of 9-10 KMPL with LPG, may be it is due to my learning mode i used only 1st,2nd & 3rd gear to drive it. What will be the milage for this car after servicing and when i will drive it smoothly at maximum gear speed.
