Your stock tyres are 175/70/R13. Using a calculator for calculating the equivalent tyre specs for 15 and 14 inches respectively gives these suggestions

For 15 inches,

Tyre code   Diameter  Circumference  Difference
----------  --------  -------------  ----------
205/45 R15  566 mm    1778 mm        -1.69 % ----> too wide, too shallow
185/50 R15  566 mm    1778 mm        -1.6 %
195/50 R15  576 mm    1810 mm         0.14 %
205/50 R15  586 mm    1841 mm         1.88 % ----> too wide
175/55 R15  574 mm    1803 mm        -0.3 %
185/55 R15  585 mm    1838 mm         1.62 %

For 14 inches,

Tyre code   Diameter  Circumference  Difference
----------  --------  -------------  ----------
195/55 R14  570 mm    1791 mm        -0.89 %
205/55 R14  581 mm    1825 mm         1.03 %    ---> too wide.
175/60 R14  566 mm    1778 mm        -1.67 %
185/60 R14  578 mm    1816 mm         0.42 %
175/65 R14  583 mm    1832 mm         1.37 %

If you use wider tyres, you will get less FE. If you don't keep the difference in final circumference within tight control, the speedo / odo will show an error, which you will feel as if you are getting less FE. If there is considerable difference in the final wheel circumference, the upgrade being higher in circumference, your reported speed on the speedo will be lower than actual, and you will get speeding tickets, if your local cops are in the habit of putting speed radars.

Keep us informed on how you proceed with the upgrade. All the Best!

There will be some small hit on FE because of wider tires. Nothing much to worry about. 0.5 to 1 kmpl? Not sure, but of that order.

Choose 5.5inches or 6inches wide rim width for the alloys.

Request local help  from Mumbai/Thane members on this.

Sam, please enquire with local tyre shops and post the quotes here, so that it will help you as well as others.

Note that most tyre shops include fitment, alignment, balancing and valve stems as complimentary with the tyre purchases. A few also fill Nitrogen without any additional charges.

The stock rims and tyres are also bought back by the tyre shop fo sweeten the deal. Ask about that too, and let us know the offer.

Hi Dhruv, Thanks for the compliments!

But what I mentioned on this thread is mostly out of the knowledge on this same forum, that I got just by hanging around for the last year, and reading posts by Binoy, Pankaj, Rohit and co.  I did not know a thing when I started out.(Not that I know a lot now, it is just the links talking Wink)

Hope you too persist, and some day soon, become a better advisor on the forum.
