I couldn't find much information on touch screen in dash Head units and thus the new post. I've bought a new Scorpio and would like your advice on the best touchscreen setup for a budget of 45K. I already have a pioneer sub woofer, an XPlod amp and JBL oval speakers for the rear. None of this is installed yet. So the budget is for the components, wiring, HU and installation too. I've done some research on JVC, Pioneer and Eclipse. I don't think I can get my hands on the latter. Do let me know if you think I should try other options too. I intend to install a rear camera later and would prefer it if the HU is rear camera ready. Same with GPS. I also prefer a rear USB and ipod connectivity. I know both Pioneer and JVC have remote steering controls that can be purchased separately. One installer said it would not be a good idea to mount the ovals on the rear door as the sound would be muffled. Do let me know about the positioning of the speakers. I notice that there is an option for smaller speakers (tweeters?) above the last row in the refreshed Scropio. My Scropio is an 8 seater. Over to the gurus..

I received an email promo newsletter from SatGuide last week - they've advertized a touch-screen ICE HU that supports GPS, Bluetooth, Audio playback from CD/DVD or USB device, reverse sensors and the works for Rs.34,999/- with Maps.

You might want to check that out.  I have NO idea who the manufacturer is, but take a look at it anyway.

PS:  Its advertized on their website as well (I just checked):

This seems to be a Chinese unit - no brand mentioned. Is there anyone on this forum who has bought and used it?

The JVC Avx 826 seems to be a good buy. No GPS though. I'm not sure if it supports additional hardware that can be added later. Anyone use this system? Somebody promised a review, yet to see it

Does anyone know if on these integrated units is it possible to play music at the same time your navigatin is on? If not, then I agree with what a lot of people are saying. - get seperate units for each need.

Rohal,

There are bluetooth adapters available in the market. Check with your manufacturer if there is something compatible

Tx

Thomas

Mahesh,

I'm using the 826 without any gps. good sound period

Kenwood and Pioneer have come out with all in ones. They start at 50k just for the HU. I think JVC has also come out with one... but you will need to buy the gps unit separately.

Thanks!

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for that info, Can you please share the pics of the JVC HU. also can you please share the complet ICE configuration you have. I presume you had originally said that you have a scorpio. my beast will be arriving by month end.

I had originally planned to buy the satguide entertainment system ( http://www.satguide.in/product/car_entertainment_system_with_gps.aspx) , but when i called them up for a demo, they said they dont have a demo in bangalore. I dont want to risk my 30k without trying the thing out. Had you given a thought on this model?

Chirag,

i10 has a 2 din slot, These HU's are designed for the 2 din slots. my sense is it should fit in and play nicely.
