I also second Krishna, Pankaj and Rohit. A link for unanswered thread will be better as it will appear on each page and will not affect the present system(chronological listing).

If there are no unanswered queries, then the link should disappear or become inactive.

I assume what Binoy probably means (post 10) is that there is no need to tag such threads separately as unanswered - especially when we have a category of New Posts.  After all such threads/posts are new until they are answered - in a way.  He has a point.

But, as I understand, there is a small hitch.  'Listings' under the New Posts may differ from member to member - depending upon their last visit to the Forums.  So, if a member during his visit to the Forums has not noticed new/unanswered thread or has thought of attending to it later, it may not be listed when he/she revisits (re-logs).

Besides, it would be better to have a separate category/link - also with a reasoning that it would attract more attention/importance & help us achieve 'the purpose' faster & better.  While in case those are listed along with New Posts, notwithstanding the above, there will still be a possibility of a few such threads getting lost in the crowd.

29-Jan was the date for going live on this one. Any progress, Banwariji?

Bump!

There are sad cases where a person repeatedly posts, and no one answers. Bad for the forum. See an example.

When can we have this implemented please?

I know you must have lost faith in me by now but it will be done this week for sure.

Take lessons from me, Krishna.  I have never lost faith/hope Cool

Jokes apart, I have seen this forum since it didn't even have 'quote' facility. Some things have come up fast while some took a while.  But sooner or later, all worthwhile suggestions have been implemented.

But yes, we should remind Banwari (busy man) once in a while.  He sometimes is forgetful Laughing

@ Banwari, earlier you forgot the update.  Now you forgot to update that the update has gone live. Lol.

So, it's live since yesterday morning (a couple of improvements will come through). The new section is very nice - will help the forums/askers.

Thanks Banwari & team, and Feroz & others for their suggestions.

Pankaj - you stole his show! Tongue out

Possibly this is a pilot/trial, but looks already it works pretty fine!

For curiosity sake I went to the last post, and I found Anshu had a Fabia tyre query posted on 5th Jan. No wonder nobody replied - Anshu? Fabia?? LoLzz!

I got the opportunity & I grabbed it Wink (sorry Banwari).

Yes, it works fine.  I test-drove it.  We had a small chat - the threads from Review Section (& Articles) will not figure under the unanswered threads, as those are NOT queries.  Also because we now have plenty of reviews from Research Section (outside forums) linked to the forums - wherein askers/members are NOT involved.

Fair enough, right?
