Since your most of the running is on highways, petrol car would be better option as you will be able to draw good mileage from it as well.
If fuel economy is your prime priority then Wagon R is meant for you. Very good city and highway mileage, maintenance cost is low too. Santro could be the second choice is this scenario or could be the first choice if you need more driving pleasure. If there is a budget concern, you can think of Xeta.
