Hi Banwari! It is official Accent with CNG by Hyundai with 10 KG for 63K, whereas privately Lavato is for 43K with 14kg cylinder. (My running is around 150 per day so I think CNG in better option)

hang on ...150 per day !!!.......buddy u'll hav to go for d 14 kg kit....

10 kg doesnt mean it contains 10 kg of CNG in it...... its lesser..... n u'll hardly reach ur destination wid one full cylinder.......n wil hav to use petrol every day !!....

i wud suggest u to go for d bigger cylinder .... even though i kno it voids ur warranty......bt wid a car covering 150 km per day ...savings shud b maximized by using ptrol only while starting ...n not as an alternate fuel cuz ur CNG wud finish in ur 10 kg cylinder well b4 d 14 kg Cylinder !

hi, i am rather new to all this but i am trying to convince my father to get our hyundai getz converted to CNG, but one thing that keeps bothering me is whether its safe to do so as many of my friends have warned me of the danger of cars blowing up in case of a accident and other safety issues, can someone advise me on this point?moreover, is it safe to convert a getz into CNG?

see here where u pay 63k or 43k for a cng kit opposite u can get a lpg kit for around 20k so here u save more than double & lpg is available easily & its filling is like how u fill petrol or diesel so u dont have to make a long que to get it filled. i think its one & the samething in both, in cng initially u have to pay more for the kit & get little better mileage & in lpg ur initial investment is almost half of the cng & ull get little lesser mileage so if u consider after some usage it almost comes to same & suppose u dont havre much running than u will never cover the cost of the cng kit.

Hi ,

Is the LPG filling available in normal petrol pumps? And how much damage the LPG kit does to the engines?

regards

no it is not necessary that lpg may available at all petrol pumps, somewhere there are only lpg filling stations & somewhere there are petrol stations where lpg is also available so it all depends.

lpg will reduce the engine performance by around 15% & it will give u less mileage than the petrol by say 1-2 points but overall u wiull save on fuel bills.

do tell us ur running so taht we can suggest u that will fitting a lpg kit in ur car prove to be good for u or no.

Mr.Deepam.

Thanks fo your reply.Actually my running is around 500-600 km per month. In near future  i am expecting a change of job whichwill require travelling  around 1300 km per month. Now i have one ford ikon which is giving me milege around 11km per ltr petrol.I am thinking if i am taking up that job, shall i fit some cng/lpg kit or buy new diesel car say, between vista aura, swift diesel, getz prime diesel. Please guide me.If required i can open new thread.

Mr.Deepam,

Also i heard that CN/LPG kits in fact damge the engine. So if only the power ges reduced by 20%,Still it is acceptable, but if it will damage the engine then we should think very carefully whether to go for these kits

regards

@ priyadarshi,

as per ur running at present there is no need of cng/lpg as it will be of no use as ur running is very limited & the initial amount wat u will be paying for lpg/cng kit, that u will not be able to retain it.

so as per now u use ur car on petrol & when ur job gets changed & ur running increases trade of ur ikon & go in for a diesel car.

diesel any day would be a better choice than cng/lpg as in diesel there is no loss of performance, ur boot space is saved & mileage is also very good.

if u intend to change ur car now than look at vista or swift but if there is some time from now than there is hyundai i20, fiat grande punto, new ford ikon diesel & fiat linea on its way, which will be better cars with newer features & technology.

but dont go for cng/lpg, its not a viable option to go for.

plz tell ur budget of buying a new diesel car & whjen u planning to buy it?
