Hi maximum cost of Power Steering conversion is 10k not more than that and time involved is merely an hour. After that it works like a charm I have alto VXI & converted it to PS from manual

Hi, Correct me if I am wrong but the alto vxi had a 1.1 litre engine and PS was a standard feature in this one.

maybe all Sunny did was repair the existing PS and not install a PS?

FE crazy me!

But its not really needed on Alto. I had no PS on M800 5 speed and I never had an issue. You may rather invest the same money on other performance modifications like FFE and K&N air filters etc.

I have Santro Xing XK which is not PS vehical but still i feel its requires PS, but in Maruti,800 and Alto its not necessary.

Well yes we all can modify our cars to a great extent but we need to see the practicality. You need to consider the cost and depreciation factor of converting a non PS vehicle to PS one.

For instance I wish if I had ABS in my Esteem. But it would be no wise to do it off market. It would be better to sell it off and directly buy a car equipped with OEM ABS.

Certain modifications are easy and useful like that of suspension, exhaust system, LPG/CNG convertion, larger brakes etc.

power steering mainly is required when vehicle is stationary or while parking at tight places but it for sure that modifications depends on requirement

well yes and no both because I feel even on highway a car equipped with  power steering is more comfortable  to drive. But here the issue is how practical a conversion would be

Well, IMO a car with Radial Tyres should have PS.  I got used to PS and very recently I drove a non-PS Santro, at that time I realised how I have taken PS for granted.  It was Hell! when parking and turning in slow speed.  Its always best to buy a car with PS rather than ugradinbg to one.

Never mind what others say, do whats right for that moment!

yes its always best to buy a car with PS rather than upgrading. Its not about radial thought because I was fine with my M-800 even with wider 165/60 R12 tires. Its basically the car size and weight and steering geometry that matters here. But in any case a PS car is definitely more comfortable to drive.
