Vinay there is no need for any confusion. You can go for the upgrade. The ideal upsize would be.

With alloy wheel upsize:

205/50/16

or

195/50/16.

With the stock wheels:

205/55/16

There would be marginal changes in FE and speedo reading with the above sizes. The Manza always looked under tyres so an upgrade in rim sizes also would be great.

The issue with the low profile tyre would be decreased ride quality but i guess that would be offset by the exemplary ride quality inherent to the car.

Hi Vinay,

If you change the Alloy wheels upsize so tyre should be low size height wise because you will face problem on jumping time that is my personal experience.......kk

Hi Vinay,

I respect the technical information provided by VKnidhi but i totally disagree with the quote

"The car manufacturer knows best the right size of the wheel. Any deviation is a precursor of the attendant perils "

This quote does not catch up with our Indian car's.....as in India all manufacturer's are bound to keep there overall cost low hence compromise in tyres is the best option they have.

Not only Manza - Swift Diesel, Dzire, Vista, old accent all had the same problem wherein the typre size was compromised for cost factors - the overall shape too shouts for tyre upgrade.

Now comes the advantage and disadvantage part: On this i am alligned with Binoy's suggestion of typre sizes and personally i feel that a tyre upgrade on Manza will enhance its stablity, braking and confidence on Highway's the looks definately if it all that bothers u least  Cool (for me that tops the chart)

HAppY DrIvinG !!

Priyank-spot on!

Our car makers are shrewd penny pincher's, would like to highlight one more aspect-quality of the OEM tyres. These are the cheapest available brand all across the board.

Even new cars seems to be following the same formula(the Beat also comes with weedy tyres) and its a shame that car makers provide such low quality stuff in one of the most important safety departments as far as cars go.

One of my personal experience with Swift Vdi OE tyres....I felt they were too thin to handle max speed the machine manages to touch on a highway....just one size upgrade provided twice the confidence and road grip - a complete worth every penny spent atleast on this car !!

Binoy hits the bull's eye- I got them exchanged in 1400 bucks as dealer told me this is the CHEAPEST tyre in this class and size with MRP as 1800.
