As I have explained before at post#17 (page #2), Alloy wheels of good quality & light weight, will increase the mileage, improve performance & braking (all marginally).  Contrary to this, if the alloy wheels are not of good quality & weigh more than the normal ones, the mileage will reduce, and due to corrosion, if any in extreme weather, may harm car's tyres as well.  By the way, Tubeless Tyres are best suited for Alloy Wheels, and visa-versa.

Regarding wheel-size, it's always best to stick to manufacturer provided wheel size (alloy or non-alloy), i.e. 13 inches in this case - else tyre's profile will have to be reduced to keep the car's ground clearance intact. This is necessary & recommended to avoid problems in suspensions etc. and to maintain the ride quality.

Honesty is not a Spare Wheel that you pull out when in trouble. It's a Steering Wheel that keeps you on the right path throughout the life's journey.

If you are going for 14 " alloys then get the 185 / 65 14 tyres for your acccent , everything about alloys has already been mentioneed , and go for the Plati or the Aura alloys

good quality alloy wheels do more to the car than just make them look good. apart from making the car lighter and hence giving better mileage and a better driving experience they also increase the life of the car tires. they do so because when a car is traveling a lot of heat is generated because of the friction between the tires and the road, as a result the tires are worn out easily. in case of alloys as they are better conductors of heat than the regular wheels they dissipate the heat generated increasing the life of the tires.

Yes and, therefore, as I have stated before (post #32), braking too is better.  But all this is marginally.

Alloys Wheels of Neo & Aura are known to be good.  Aura quality is slightly better but look-wise Neo is better.  The cost will range from 20K to 30/35K depending upon the variety & quality you choose.

CD player of Pioneer & Sony are known to be good.  The cost will range (for both) from 6/6.5K to 10K - depending upon the model.  Go for one that comes with pen drive - will cost around 8/9K.

Regarding side-mirrors etc., you may check locally - they are not very expensive accessories.

Is it advisable to use tubeless tyres with Stock steel wheels or should i go for Alloywheels.

My prime concern is safety ,hence i am switching to Tubeless tyres. Please advise me weather to go for alloys or go with the normal wheels.

Hi ranjeet it would hav been better if you would tell which car you have?

The Alloy wheels is only for pure styling and not for sfety or performance ,

wel if you are happy with normal rims then no need to chnage to Alloys

tyres matter a most for safety and tubeless is the best option

if you would tell the car tht you own , then i would give yu the upgradtion size for the perticular car !

Cheers,

Sri

Hi Sri, i have a Indigo GLX 2004 petrol model.Well i have used the calculator given in carbibles and have decided to go for the following  tyres

185/60/R14 or 185/65/R14.

was toldand Read at many places that if we use Steel rims there are more chances of air leakage from tubeless tyres.Hence i was thinking of going for Alloy wheels aling with tubeless tyres.Kindly give your opinion on the same.

Hi Ranjeet ,

As you use an Indigo , prefer the 185/65 R 14 or the 185 /70 R 14 tyres

YOu could go in for Brdgestone or good year tyres

regarding the Alloy wheels , its not so , steels wheels are good enough if you can amnage and no extra bit on safety , the alloy wheel is considered only for Sylin and imrpovement of looks of hte car and nothing else !

If you want styling then only put alloy or else steel wheels are simply FINE! and changing to alloys is simply unncesary watse of money!

Cheeers,
