I found this link somewhere for alloy wheels. It explains all the aspects of alloy wheels and a good catalog too for almost all the cars in india. Check out here

PS: Mods, in case this link exists elsewhere on the forum, this thread could be deleted or closed. I searched but could not find so thought would post it here so that members could be benefitted.

Hi Guys,

I am having Swift VDI from last 1 year with MRF - tubeless tyres. Now i would like to install Alloy wheels in my car. So, which one is the best and how much it will cost to me and what specification i need, i mean the diameter of tyres etc. ?

As i heard that it will decrease my mileage, is it true ? Currently it is giving me 21-22 KMPL on highways and 17-18 KMPL in city. I have one another thing to ask if i go for another tyres may be little stylish / bigger etc. then will be be reduce my swift's performance specially the mileage.

Someone in this post mentioned that it costs me around 12000/- 20000/-. so is it for all the 4 wheels ?

Thanks and Regards,

Ravi

Hi Guys,

I have booked for Swift VDI and expecting it by next month. One of my friend offered me Zxi alloy wheels for rs 25,000/-. For me it looks like a better deal but i am not sure how good these alloy wheels are? Could some one please suggest me on this?

hi Santhu

25k for stock alloys that is too highSurprised, these are used alloys right ,i would not suggest you to buy the zxi wheels. Because you could get very good aftermarket wheels with good designs for 25k for example .

25k is a good budget Cool or Are you changing your tyres too

Hi Henry,

Thanks for your reply, 25k is for 5 alloys with tyre (JK). These are not used alloys and on exchange to stock steel wheels i would be paying around 17 - 18k more.

Otherwise I think for 5 alloys with tyre minimum it would cost around 30 - 35k?

ya it would cost 30-35k but if you dont want to upsize your wheel from 14 to 15,16or 17.you can just use your stock tyre instead of changing your tyre. just like the picture i am posting.the owner of this car just changed his alloy and kept the stock tyre

Do give reference to pictures posted, further pictures without reference will be removed-MODS

Hi,

I  am buying a Swift Dzire LDI model by tomorrow. I am planing to fix Plati Alloy Wheels, which is costing me around Rs. 15000 including bolts and spanners.

Can i buy Plati wheels andy complaints and how is the price. Some one was telling me that iits avaliable for 13000. I am talking for set of 5.

Advise me.

Regards

Thomas Abraham.

Hi Arvind upgrading tyres for the Swift is a good idea , and 185/ 70 is just the right size to go with , and there wont be any tecnical problem nor anything with the performance and you get a better road grip !

get the Bridgestone G3 or the yokohoma Tyresor Good year! 185/ 70 R 14

HR and Plati are the type of alloys you shud BUY!

Also see to it that you choose the alloys with  not more than 7 spokes and not thin spokes too!

Cheers,

Sri
