Hi,

Does anybody knows, when the Fuel Indicator glows for i20-magna ? I meant, what is the amt of petrol present in the car, when the Fuel Indicator glows ? is that 3 liters ? or 5 liters ? or what ?

I could not find the figure in the manual and the sales person was not able to tell me the exact figure.

Sagar, generally there is 7 liters of fuel after the reserve intdicator kicks in. Do not depend on this figure and fill up at the mext available opportunity. This is explained in the other thread here

kool thanks,

all in all,  there is definately 5+ liters...  so, considering that, I can re-fuel.

by the way, it is said, that when filling up the tank completely, one should take of the pipe once it makes sound. But one can still fill in some more amt of petrol. any thoughts on this ?

That is fine, all I wished to have is the calm mind even if the pertrol indicator glows.....

The low fuel indicator is also not absolutely accurate and the indication would depend on a lot of factors.

The best practice is to top up as soon as the indicator lights up. Chance of fuel injector clogging increases as the fuel level goes down(more or the slush is at the bottom of the tank).

Just tried the way mentioned above.

The pointer was on zero, but the fuel indicator was not flashing/glowing, did a full tank, it registered 39.01 liters. The fuel tank capacity is 45 liters for i20. That means, 6 liters was still there in the tank when I did a full tank, but the fuel indicator was not glowing. That means, the the amount of fuel that we are trying to find out is much lower than 7 or 8 liters, when fuel indicator glows. Right now, I considering/hoping 5 liters.

Let me know if anybody has registered similar readings.
