Dear All,

Could you please share your experiences on which CNG is best for hundai I20 1.2L kappa engine.

How is the performance after converting it to CNG.

Waiting for your expert comments as I am planning to convert it on CNG.

Regards,

Hemant

Please install cng kit from hyundai dealership as they offer warranty and peace of mind of orignal parts.Performance will be slightly lower than petrol but will not be too bad.

Hi

i am thinking of buying Etios Liva and considering CNG retrofitting ...please suggest on it ..

i will be using the car for daily office travel in city (about 40Kms) and occasionally highway driving on weekends (atleast twice per month)

How much it will cost me for cng fittings ?

I know its new car and i am risking it by CNG as Warranty on engine will be void ... but its ok for me

How is the performace of CNG in I20 ?

what is the estimated price of CNG kit for I20?

What are the parameters to look for choosing CNG ?

Will the warranty remain valid after fitting the CNG kit to new car ?

What are the changes required from RTO (after getting the CNG fitted to the car). Will there be any problem in getting the CNG fitting (in terms of paper work and govt dealing) if the care is hypothecated ?

Please advise

I would suggest u to buy a entry level sedan rather than a hatch if you want to do cng retro....just fyi...accent comes really cheap at 5 lakhs these days......gr8 VFM plus u get a large boot for the cng.....although old...but its a very good car.......

Undecided

hi guys, i really need your help, i've zeroed in to purchase a used 2007 tata indigo xl petrol,, at 1.75 lakhs which i,d like to use with cng,, i almost purchased the car until  i saw the rc book which stated that the car had been fitted with cng,,

inquiring with the owener he said that due to milage issues he had tried installing a regualr cng in the car which was unsuccessful and had it removed,

as i had planned to do the same,, the owner assured me that puttin another cng worth 60,000 from from green globe solutions will solve the problem,,

i have two questions

1) is this a good price for a indigo xl in good condition

2) will the expensive 60,000 cng from green globe solutions sucessfully run in this car

i really need help here guys,, travelling by rickshaws in mumbai is really burning a hole in my pocket

any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks guys

Sanket - looks like your post somehow went unnoticed.

On the whole of it, it seems you will be retrofitting the CNG kit on a new car and this will void the warranty. I would suggest that either you do not get the retrofit done or look at other options which come with company fitted CNG kits because they would have the warranty intact. It seems okay for now but one might regret it if problems start showing up in the car during the warranty period. Also there are chances that the service center guys might attribute each and every problem (if you get any though I hope you dont) that you get in the car to the retrofit. So I would suggest you do a serious thinking over it. You can better opt for a diesel car instead.

However if you still very keen on a CNG retrofit, the cost would be somewhere around 40-50k depending on the kit you use (open loop, close loop, sequential). Also there would be a drop in the power of the car, not to forget the higher maintenance. Do take all these things in to consideration before going ahead.
