mileage ant tyre pressure

Hi all,

I filled 20lts of petorl in my zen ( 1997 model) to make the pointer to move from red ( E ) to F. Generally my car runs with 270 - 280 kms with it. But I felt the mileage was very low ( decreased by 3 kms / litre ). I also felt some changes in the tyres. I filled air in my tyre ( all tyres were at 25. I filled them to 30 ). Now I can see that the mileage is back. will the tyre pressure affect the mileage that much ? and also any tips to improve mileage?
