Hi All
I need your advise on buying a new car currently i drive a Swift LXI petrol car which is good. Iam contemplating on buying a sedan. I like the New SX4 Petrol and i have also shortlisted Ford fiesta diesel 1.6, Iam also looking at the honda city & finally the fiat Lineia. Iam also aware that the SX4 diseiel is an upcoming new car and i presume it would have the fiat 1.6 diesel engine. Iam looking for a car which gives me good fuel efficiency, Power, good handling and ride quality, good built quality & good performance, good maintenance cost, safety, comfort. Please do recommend a good car for me from the above listed. I can speand up to 7 lakhs to 8lakhs being the upper limit. I drive around 16 KM a day. Iam in no rush and i dont mind waiting for the new SX4 diesiel provided it meets all the criteria's iam looking for or anyother good sedan which within 8 Lakhs. I would however wait for the  opinion of experts. Which car would be the bets choice?
Regards
Deepak

Looking at your daily run, I think a petrol sedan would suit you best. Have you considered the Verna?

Deepak:
Welcome onboard!! Wishing you a pleasant stay here...

Yeah!! I go with Sandesh, Petrol will be a better bet than diesel.
You can consider diesel if your usage is more than 1000km / month!

Share your thoughts if you think otherwise, we shall discuss about the car by then...

Cheers,
Sai

Diesel SX4 might take 6 more months in the launch.

Will it be fine with you?

Well all i can say is not to wait when all uncertainties looms around it.

We havent witnessed even the Grand Vitara till date and it wont be surprising if they [Suzuki],doesnt launch Diesel SX4.

Besides considering 7-8 lakh rupees investment rules out City hands down.

Even the Zxi Sx4 might be around +8lakhs On road in Delhi.

Any comments?Innocent

In your budget you can get SX4 , Fiesta , Linea & Aveo. TD all these with family members & decide. Don't go for diesel as your usage doesn't require it.SX4 diesel will not come before Linea 1.6 which will come in late 2010 so SX4(diesel) will come in 2011 !!

@Deepak

The daily running of yours does not requires a diesel car. The Honda City performance can't be matched with any other car given in your list but you pay a hefty premium.

New Aveo 2009 Sedan can be also included in your list which is available in 1.4 litre and 1.6 litre petrol engine. Its a value for money car , discount of 50 thousand minimum ,beautiful interiors, good ground clearance 180mm , dealer/service centres at 178 cities/203 outlets etc.

My run is around 2000 km a month and I am happy with petrol version of SX4 ZXI.The econom of diesel cars is a myth, the only people making money on diesel versions is the manufacturers who charge huge and unfair premium on diesel versions. My SX4 ZXI is giving me 14.2 to 14,6 kmpl in city with ac and traffic jams.SX 4 is a power packed large car which has never let me down in almost 2 yrs and 40000 km.For your run you do not need diesel.Petrol linea is underpowered.Fiesta is a smaller car in comparison and its back seat is very cramped,it is in fact even smaller than Getz back seat.
