Dear sharma, i have a santroLE zipdrive(1.0litre version),which bought newly on aug 2001,so far it done 45,000km plus, what i wonder was it still run on orginal battery(company fitted)(also orginal tyre still running),in spite of having heavy electronics like anti theft lock ,CDChanger,2 set of fog lamps one set at bumper and another at crash guard,3-pipe imported horn, 120/100 watt headlight bulbs, one extra high power tube light for internal lighting purpose and i use A.C also regularly. Is it advice to change battery or wait for another 3 months, the car starts normally without anyproblem. Another query is to know difference between 1.1ltr and 1.0ltr, some of the company mechanics told me in 1 ltr version the timing changes frequently if u drive the car above 100kph,as 1.1 ltr santro has distributer less ignition? is it true? i get mileage of about 21 kmpl(without A.C) on highway and 11kmpl on city previously(i drove below 80kph on highway),and the pickup is very poor, when i told this on 32000km service they changed the setting to factory settings, now it giving me 13kmpl in city and 16kmpl on highway ,the pickup is execellent.how they tune mileage in MPFI car compare to carburated version, there are airscrew settings in carburaterand they do valve(tappet) adjustment to get good millage.what they adjust in MPFI car? may be my quesion lengthy, i get different answers from technical people in garrage. i read autocar,overdrive,etc..... thanks and happy new year wishes for u and carwale team

You don't have to change your battery considering the load on it, rather car will tell you itself that it needs a new battery. Use it as of now. Yes, Santro 1.1 has distributor-less ignition system. Its for a bit better mileage, that's it. Major difference between 1L and 1.1L was that the latter one is more powerful (7bhp more). In MPFI cars tuning is done in ECU generally.
