There is nothing like a 'life expectancy' for any car engine. Most will run for more 100000kms without any major issues.

Another aspect is the the life of other components like the gear box, differentials, suspension systems and chassis.

I know of someone's Scorpio(2.6 turbo) having done over 2 lacs KM.

Maruti 800 as well with over 2 lac ( with 1 engine overhaul ).

The Fiat engine ( 1.3 MJD ) has been tested for 3L km I read somewhere.

Engines are meant to last really *long* so long as the maintenance ( oil, coolant, etc ) are all taken care of.

I have Santro Xing 5.5 yrs old, driven 78K. No problem so far going great.

The car is single hand driven and maintenance was always on time and with Hyundai authorized service center.

I have a Swift VDi.

It has done 25,000 kms in 2 years now , but I dont feel any good with it now. Just dont feel it to be that smooth as it was during the first 6 months. Starting from gear to steering, everything feels rough.

I just did a paid servicing also, but still uncomfortable.

Thats surprising, have a Dzire VDi, 1year 8 months and 22,oookms+ run, find the engine and the drive train to be in excellent health, infact the diesel engines 'loosen up' after about 10k kms.

What problems are you facing.

We do sometimes stop enjoying our car/performance - just for a change Laughing
