Hey did anyone tried adding USB port to Punto Emotion? It comes with Blaupunkt FIAT 199CD SBO5 NEW STYLE CD RADIO and I think the same head unit is been used for Emotion Pack?

Anyone tried adding USB port to it?

I think I got some temporary solution for now to have USB port for CD/Radio Head Unit. Today I bought MP3 FM Modulator for Rs 300/-. All we need to do is to slide the device into Cigarette Lighter charger plug (ofcourse with SD card or USB). The device comes with preset frequency 87.9, 88.1 etc. Once it's on, tune your FM frequency with the same frequency and it's done!

I encountered disturbance on every traffic signal, will find out the reason why? But for now I'm enjoying it and I'm sure so will you all. It's fun to see your head unit enabled to play MP3 format so easily without any wire connection. Take a look at the pictures, below:

I have the same machine, and I'll tell you the funpart bou it. We went for a drive from delhi to jaipur and had put this to play mp3. Every time a bump or some pothole came, it came back to the same song.

So in the end, we had to listen to the same line, same song the whole way while coming back. It was only after we reached NCR, that we could have some respite using FM!

Have fun with it

So does this device have some buttons for forwarding and rewinding the tracks or its just a continous play?

Akash - Could it be a fault in the system or a shake to change song type of feature like in mobile phones now a days?

@ Akash, It's a temporary solution until we find some better alternative w/o voiding warranty. And it doesn't always skip the sound track, atleast I haven't encounter yet.

@Anshum: It does have REW & FW even Pause, and store the last played track when we leave or switch off the device. You get more than enough for Rs 300 and w/o hampering your warranty conditions.

This is a good options especially taking into considering the warranty void situation with Punto.

I have an emotion too and I am sure that it is the same head unit because when you press the CD button twice, it comes up with an AUX option on the player display meaning that there is a provision for an Auxillary input to the system.

There are shops which can just plug into this input for the head unit and provide a USB connection but then warranty is the issue ...

One more query ... Are you guys able to play DVDs (audio ofcourse) on your punto music players? I asked concorde motors and two people gave me completely opposite answers !!!!! Surprised

It will be really stupid if you can't even play a DVD on punto music system!!!!!!

Hi Vasav, thanks for sharing the info on Aux, I didn't knew about it and it confirms that our variant has Aux input option.

Do share if you get chance to explore it further and let us know if you are able to get that option implemented on ur head unit which can offer us USB option.

Looking forward to hear back.

Cheers!

Sure sandeep .... I am in two minds about implementing that option because I wish not to give away for my warranty ... but then writing CDs is also not a very good option at all times ...

I will udpate. In the mean time .. Pls. go through my posts and give some valuable inputs at I am looking for some more accessories for my punto ..
