In my view point, anything in written will help you in this case. Do not take delivery without service report.

Being a owner, you are privileged to receive documents number of time you sent car for repairing.

Sachin, but is your problem resolved? Did you drive your car and check for yourself?

Fiat would avoid divulging the details of the fault they have since rectified.   But, in any case, they cannot refuse to undertake responsibility if the problem/fault resurfaces.  Do take a suitable undertaking to this effect.

Test-drive the car THOROUGHLY before taking the delivery.

I feel it's better to test drive the car and find out first hand if problem is solved. If it's solved, take the car but put it in writing with the dealer and fax the copy to Fiat and Tata that you want documents showing what work was done on the vehicle.

If problem is still there, I still say, please take the car with you after putting down in writing that problem is not solved. I say this because if you leave the car at the dealership either they will park it some corner where it will gather dust and rust or they will have fun driving it all over the town.

By the way, why not try another dealer even if you have to drive some distance more?

I have received a Letter from the dealer B U Bhandari (dealer said that this letter is been given on behalf of FIAT, as mentioned by FIAT and the draft was sent by FIAT) which states - That the wear in the tyre is due to the terrain and specific road condition on which I use the vehicle daily, also it is mentioned that they have test driven the vehicle more than 1000 Kms on the road used by me on daily basis.

I would like to say that If the wear is due to the Terrain and specific road condition on which I use the vehicle daily, then is it so that the Vehicle is designed only to be used on Flat roads and not in the Hilly regions and Ghat road? I drive down to my work place daily and at my job location many of my colleagues drive in their own vehicles and also company vehicles travel on the same road. The type and number of vehicle that commute to the same location (my work place where I drive the said vehicle on daily basis as mentioned by FIAT and the dealer) is as under

Scorpio – Daily Commuters more than 10 Nos, Bolero – Daily Commuters more than 10 Nos,LMV’s (Swift, Alto, Zen, etc) – Daily Commuters more than 5 Nos, LMV’s(Swift, Alto, Zen, etc) – Commuters who travel 2- 3 times a week more than 5 Nos, Other vehicles like Mini Bus used for staff – Daily Commuters more than 15 Nos, Other LMV’s – Daily commuters more than 10 Nos, OtherLMV’s – Commuters who travel 2 – 3 times a week more than 10 Nos.

These vehicles does not show such an abnormal wear in the tyres as the subject Punto (My Vehicle) and also before I purchased the above vehicle I was using Maruti Zen for more than 6 months on the same roads which never had such a abnormal wear. The Road conditions on which I use the vehicle on daily basis is just excellent and this must be known to FIAT as they have test driven the vehicle on this road for more than 1000 Kms.  If Fiat vehicles were designed to work and driven only on Flat roads same should have been mentioned in the advertisement made by FIAT and in that case I would have not at all purchased a FIAT vehicle.

SAchin this is SAD.

Have you taken deleivery of your car?

Just want to know if you are still facing some problem. Just want to understand if Fiat has ractified the problem , but are not accpeting in open forum.

I also doubt if this letter was sent by COmpany , as it really sound very STUPID, to write such letter to any customer anywhere in India.

In that case, its SAD. I will never buy any argument as such from an International brand.

Hope your problem is resolved in any case whether they accpet or not.

All the best.
