Hi all,

I want to book a car in range of 5-6 lac mostly RITZ or SWIFT of disel varient by this month end.this car will be my first car.....Smile, my ride will be 1000-1500kms/month some times a long drive too.

i am in lot of confusion which car i have to fix up!!!..although i took test drive of both cars! Embarassed..RITZ is good at high roof, comfort with BS IV,dealer agreed to give discount upto 20k,no waiting period...SWIFT is a proven car for its stablness, even milage..however there is no discount and prolonged waiting period of 2-3 months.Cry...look wise i like both of them.

by your experiance please suggest me which will be a better deal???

Regards,

G.Gururaj

Both deisel cars are good.Swift is better interms of ride and handling, looks are good.

Ritz looks are subjective to personal opinion.I did not like its back shape. It has good space compared to swift.Only thing to opt for Ritz as it is readily available.

IF you are OK with the looks of Ritz(i dont like its rear), take her to home. It is a good car to drive, and it is already BSIV.

And, swift is due for a change.

Gururaj:

Welcome to carwale!!!

As you have rightly pointed out both RITZ & SWIFT are very good cars from Maruti's stable.

But for your budget, I wud suggest you to have a look at PUNTO Diesel [6.2L on road] as well. Many of our fellow carwale guys have had gud experience after owning a PUNTO recently.

You can ease out the waiting period of SWIFT. Lookwise PUNTO Scores over RITZ on any day.

My frenz here wud drop by, with more suggestions. Letz keep our fingers crossed until then...

I wud be happy to know how many votes we get for PUNTO over here!!

Cheers,
Sai

+1 to Punto.

Swift looks dated now as compared to the fresh looks of the punto and ritz.

Ritz is low on features and the pulling power of swift.

Punto has it all, looks, features and pulling power. Like whoever said it has a bad turbo lag maybe looking for a F1 car. It pulls amazingly in 2nd and more so in 3rd gear and you can feel the turbo spool in after 2000rpm.

@ gururaj,

even i would suggest punto diesel. punto is ahead of these 2 cars & much better too.

it is strong, stable, sturdy & is bigger also. it looks very good, has very good features.

if u like it than there is no other better option than punto for u.

at present comes with good offer also of free insurance + 4yrs extended warranty + 4yrs roadside assistance package.

it is a great buy at this price.
