Hi
The mechanism of a Diesel engine is different from the Petrol one.
In Diesel engine, the engine has to get heated before starting. So if you do not use the car for a long time, the power needed to heat the engine from the battery might not be sufficient and as a result, there are possibilities of the heater plugs getting damaged.
Diesel engines require good oil circulation. If you do not use your car for a long time, the oil in the engine might get thickened and as a result, it will not circulate in the engine properly.
You are not required to drive your car daily, but please do make sure that you atleast start your diesel car atleast once in 2 days.
Also, these are just my conceptions based on my understanding. Do remember that the modern diesel engines are technologically superior and hence please do refer to the owners manual for precise instructions in this same regard.
