Dear Friends,

Could somebody please enlighten me on following terms?

1. Air filters - K&N, Green Cotton filter... both are same? i had a K&N filter on my old pulsar bike...is it same in cars? any effect on performance/Fuel Efficiency?? also abt green cotton filter??

2. Plugs - Iridium plugs are better than stock?? mean with FE and Performance??

Hi Nikhil,

Yes K&n slightly increases the accleration as fuel is burnt faster.Buttt comments on effects on engine due to k&n are mixed. 

Iridium plugs are useful for modified engines and the improvements on stock engines are marginal.

BTW which car do you use?

@Nikhil,

Stick to the manufacturer recommended parts. That is the best way to ensure that the engine remains fault-free. The paper air filter (which is common nowadays) is by far the de-facto air filter in almost all passenger vehicles these days.

Dear Nikhil,

There is no air fillter called DE-facto.The word De-facto means "The fact"in Latin.

Nikhil does the fiesta that you are planning to buy have these 'modifications' and is the seller charging more accounting for the same?
