My only concerns are about the ASS of Fiat and long term resale value.

Also the maruti guy told us that Blue and Me doesnt work properly. Can some owner throw some light on this.

WIth a non windows based mobile, does it work fully or just for voice talk? Does it read messages and accept voice commands for the likes of LG, Nokia, Etc?Im currently using a LG cookie KP500, if it doesnt work it will be a disaster.

Blue & Me works fine and the list of phones that are compatible fully are provided in the fiat website.

Blue & Me works on Bluetooth and works on al models of phones - whether Windows, Symbian or other.  Specific to your mobile KP500 - you can check whether it is fully compatible or not at Fiat-india.com.  All phones with Bluetooth are compatible but there are a small se of phones of each company - for which message read out may not work

If in doubt, bets thing is during the TD, pair your phone with the car and check.

FIAt service was not good before but has improved a lot in the recent months after launch of Linea, GP etc.

The bad name Fiat has in india is due to the fact that during Palio days their service was pathetic and spare parts not easily available etc. But the story is different from Linea onwards.

Resale - this is something which will get established soon in the market.  But note that with GP and Linea having highest service frequency intervals of 15000 KMs and lowest spare parts cost, it should move towards respectable values.

Thanx Victor

My phone is not listed on their website. But I guess even if it doesnt read out my messages, any phone with a simple bluetooth will pair with the device and work for incoming and outgoing calls, right?

@ mahesh,

as for the free accessories u r getting, tell ur dealer to provide u anti rust as free instead of teflon. teflon is not really needed but in our mumbai weather antirust would help.

try convincing him on this, as u have booked ur car now there are very less chances of u getting more out of it but atleast try for this.

@ anshum,

between punto diesel & a sx4 petrol, punto diesel would be a better choice to go with as it is a diesel it will save u a lot on running costs & punto is more stronger & sturdier than the sx4 & has more features too.

if u want to comapre sx4 than compare it with linea & here also linea will fair ahead of it.

@roadster

I have eradicated the doubts about the Punto. The SX4 is a nice sedan, but the former is ahead in build quality, features, design and moreso the MJD engine.

I am confirmed on the Punto MJD E+. Would be booking in a week. Will keep you guys updated. Going in for Bossa Nova White

Latest quote i got from a dealer for Gurgaon (Haryana) registration vis-a-vis Delhi registration:-

Ex showroom 621000

Road tax         15000 (incl temp regis, num plates and logistics charges)

Corporate Disc    4000

Total OTR Gurgaon - 628000/-

He is only giving me mats for cabin and boot and mud flaps. I tried to convince many dealers in NCR. No one budges over these two freebies. Maximum they offered me a discount of 15-20% on sun film and seat covers. I guess its just luck or rather lack of it. But for the price in Haryana as compared to Delhi the car is truly VFM.

Can you guys tell me -

1.The quote is alright?

2.Freebies fine?

3.Should I get art leather seats and sunfilm from dealer or outside? 6-7k and 4k llumar respectively. How are the seat covers which are for about 2500 of laetherite material?

4.Does the E+ cd player have a preout to connect an amplifier? If not, if I opt for line in convertors would it affect warranty since FIAT is getting too particula about warranty, only due to the 4 years extended warranty i guess.

Thanx roadster

Can someone please solve my problem as to the Stock CD player preout in E+? Is there a way to put in an amplifier without losing out on warranty?

Dear Raodster,

Thanks for the advice. I'll try to negotiate the same with dealer. I feel he will agree to it as I negotiated free bees like mat, mudflaps & teflon after I book the car after rading the threads. Actually I liked the car so much that I would have bought it with the free bees also.

Thanks again. I'll keep you all posted.

Hi Anshum,

Congrats for your new car. Kindly keep us posted with your experience with GP. I am also planing to buy a new car soon but like others, I am also confused between GP and Swift VDI. Your experience might help me choose the better one.

Regards,

Faisal

Go for Punto.
There is no comparision on ride and handleing. FE is almost same, even Punto owners are reporting better mileage.
