Insurance claim for windshield (i10) cracked by stone hit

Dear Gaurav kumar, Windshield Expert is a company floated by Saint Gobain, one of the biggest manufacturer of glass world over. The charges are very reasonable and service is excellent. I had the same problem with my Getz and I saved atleast 500/-( My pocket cost after insurance) by changing the glass thru Windeshield Xpert than the company. They will negotiate the rate by small margin. All the best.

Gaurav, the service of windshield experts is excellent. The rates are also very competitive. I had been there to change the front windshield for my uncle's esteem. Their rate was around Rs. 1000/- cheaper than the maruti dealer's rate. Moreover the claim process was very smooth as they themselves processed the claim. The best part is that they do doorstep service with a nominal service charge.

Thanks everyone for such a nice advice. Well, after researching on this, I came to know that windshield guys can even repair a crack. They have shown examples and my glass's crack look like one. They say that if the crack is less than 1.5 inch, they can repair. Mine is smaller than that. Should I go for repairing. Has anybody experienced repairing of the windshield?

I wonder how they repair such thing. Also they say that moisture and dust in the crack may cause difficulty in repair. My glass's crack has been 3 days old. Will try to visit a Windshield expert tomorrow. Hopw it works out well.

i don't think they will be able to repair the crack but they will put some sticker so that the crack does not increase

May be, will ask them when they see the problem.

After replaing the glass, they have given me a Tape for emergency. They asked me to apply the tape on glass in case of small Cracks and they claim that it will stop expansion of cracks.

I will visit them tomorrow. But as per this article on their website. Small cracks can be repaired. Also, as per this thread at team-bhp, the guy said that they repaired it to become almost invisible. Has anyone used this technique yet?
