2nd hand car - Getz / Indica / Santro

DLS non-turbo should cost you not more than Rs.2 lac.  Go for turbo model - will cost 25K extra.  The engine/performance is better & smoother.  Mileage will virtually be same (16-18 in city & 20-22 on highway).

Edit:  If budget is not a constraint, spend 50K or so extra & go for 2007 model that has done less kms.

TNX.I AM GETTING THE SAID INDICA-DLS FOR RS 1.50 LACS AND THE CUSTOMER WAS DWMANDING 1.70 LACS.wHAT IS THE TOAL LIFE OF ENGINE IN TERMS OF KM.What is the test that engine is alright,however it is givng black smoke.I hv also shown this car to TATA Showroom and they told codition is avg and car reqires Rs20000 additional job towards front shocker,suspension,2 tyres and nothing more.

As discussed before, engine life would depend upon maintenance, driving conditions & style.  In case of Indica, it can go up to 3 lac kms (1 overhauling) - but would not stand true in this case - avg. condition at 1.10 lac kms.

Black smoke in such a car could be due to leakage/weak compression. As you plan 3-year ownership, please avoid such cars.  Prefer a newer model in better condition.

1,10,000 in 3 years? Sounds to me like a cab running on private number. So, think about it. You never know what all kind of pending offences or cases would be up on it.

Getz GLE was available at 3.72 lacs when I bought it, like 3-4 months back. So i guess even at 2l and 90,000 km is overpriced.

At 2.63 you get spark or santro base model, and the front seats are decent.

Think about it.

Avoid any used car which has done more than 60-80 k kms. Normal running of any petrol car would be in the range of 12-15 k per year & for diesel it would be around 18-24 k per year. You are bound to pay lot more in terms of repairing & parts replacement if car had run more than that.

I agree with Bhavin . Do carry out cost benifit analysis between used Vs new.

Now i want to buy SANTRO XING and it is available in SANTRO XING ERLS XK DEC2006 MODEL,48000 KM RUN WITH POWER STEERING,POWER BRAKE,AC .What should be its price,avg and what is xk model.if this is good model

In the range of Rs.2 to 2.20 lac - depending upon the condition.  Santro generally returns mileage of 11-12 in city & 15-16 on highway.
