It should cost approx. in the range of Rs.2 to 2.25 lac - depending upon the condition.

Getz 1.3 is very sturdy & spacious/comfortable car.  It would return mileage of 11-12 in city & 15-16 on highway.  It is now, as you may be aware, known by Getz Prime.

90K run/usage in 4 years is on a little higher side (Petrol car).  In any case, get the car/engine checked from a good & reliable mechanic.  Also check insurance history for accidents/claims, if any.

Getz is a better & more comfortable car than Santro. You being the 3rd owner, negotiate on the price.  How much is the dealer quoting?  By the way, dealers always quote a little higher than open market.

LPG kit would cost 18-20K.  The running cost would approx. be 2/3rd of petrol.  You can consider CNG - it would cost 35-40K & the running cost would be 1/3rd of petrol.  Power/performance-loss in CNG would be approx. 20% while in LPG it would be 10%.  Either of it would not matter, as such - in normal driving conditions & style.

Dear Mr. Agrawal, Try to find a car which is driven for less than 50K. It will give you trouble free ownership experience for longer time.

As your son drives a lot, new Vista QJD makes sense instead of older getz+ Lpg. A new car will serve you for much longer period. Make calculation for running & maintanence cost of older Getz+Lpg and new Diesel. Overall monthly commintment in case of new car including installment of loan will be slightly higher compared to the running cost of Getz on lpg. But at the same time, you will have peace of mind and risk free ownership. If you can't stretch for QJD go for Tdi. The F.E. of Diesel will be around 15-17 in city and the price difference of new car against old getz+lpg, will get absorbed in maintenance and resale value of new car.

All the best.

Dhiraj, please don't suffix Sir etc. to the names.  Please be informal Smile

A very well maintained Santro & the like cars would have engine-life of 2.50 lac kms with 1 overhauling.  It would also depend upon driving conditions & style.

Aggarwal/Dhiraj, Bhavin has a point you need to give a thought to.
