Maruti ran a long SX4 campaign in many variations of "Men are Back" theme and the "Men among cars" line. The clear message from these ads seems that - Maruti wants to say- that in performance, power etc men (cars) are superior to ("women" cars?). I found this ad very sexist but interestingly no women's group had any objection to this advertisement (not that we heard of). Was the ad campaign not sexist?

Maybe they should have shown women driving (riding) the SX4 Smile. What would be the message then?

Good One! I just can't stop laughing about itLaughingLaughingLaughing

On a serious note, I feel they used as a distiguisher, when cars are genrally treated in feminine gender. The message was to say that this car is more powerful and Macho in comparision to competition. weather you bealeive in an ad or not is upto you.

But it sure did its job as a new ad is excpted to create curiosity and noise in the market and that it certainly did.

Good one

yeah men are back but still driven by women would have been a more 'equal' campaign ;)

First ad was about distinguishing SX4 ( MEN ) from others ( BOYS ). And to justify its claims it does have macho look & power which men prefer for themselves. Thereby targeting youth. New ad has become softer in the sense that now GENTLEMEN are also included thereby trying to cater more broader segment from 20- 50 years of age.

I seriously wonder if it has anything to do with Exposure,as far as i remember when i planned to buy a car,an year ago-I didnt knew anything about SX4 at all.

It was a big surprise for me to see it in Showrooms.

Thinking about it felt like a dream, owing to previous 800 ownership.

Only thing i remember is seeing posters on rear glass saying ''Have you seen SX4"?

Man now i have seen it,and cant stop looking at it everyday.

I simply adore it with all its glory.

Current Shift add is better than SX4. Spl the 1 in which a old man ask old women address her as Aunty & asking "Aunty lift? "Laughing
