Yes ,it is true with indica v2 DLE.But ,You will miss power steering in city and also in narrow roads .When in Highways ,it returns very good mileage. But ,My Mind Tells to go for Newer Indigo/Vista's.

@greenhorn:I went yesterday on a 135kms(total kms) trip.and the Mileage I calculated came at  24.32kmpl .car was speeding average 70kmph(with a small stretch covered at 100-120kmph) from Muvattupuzha to Ponkunnam(kottayam).May be calcuation will be slightly wrong.I used the fuel gauge indicator(Before and after)+Rs200 diesel(5.55 litres)+135kms to calculate the mileage.Wink

Mileage is best derived at 65-70 kmsph.  But that is slow for highway (good roads).  If driven at 80-85 (good enough & safe), it would return mielage of 20-22 (even the DLE).

Yes, go for new Indigo/Vista - new is always new Smile

@greenhorn:But ,I wanted a newer model(turbo ,not dicor)+power steering+better A/C etc. Moreover ,You will be better off driving a truck ,once you get accustomed with DLE. :P

I asked the OTR price of Tata Indica V2 DLS here. After Every available discounts(Till December 22 ) ,This car can be had for Rs 3,56,000/- OTR(Ernakulam) .I am interested to get One.But ,worried whether Tata Will Discontinue this Model within 5 Years(ended up buying a car discontinued?)

AnyOne Can Help Me?Is it Wise to By V2 DLS If I am willing to Keep it For some 6-7 Years ?

Most Pals Recommend Me to get a Used 2008 and above Model DLS(Turbo if possible).

We have discussed it all - please prefer turbo.

Indica Turbo has since been discontinued.  Go for 2007 or 2008 model - preferably DLG (Intercooler).  And if you can stretch a little for a new car, nothing like it - can consider Vista TDi or CS - both have Turbo.

buy a damn DLG turbo Its already discontinued. And its the nearest thing to having a fun diesel hatch ( swift D values are off the roof) Pretty sure the Indica DLS will be discontinued once tata makes vista sales to the taxi market official. Its not like you wont get spares.

Buy a DLG/DLX Turbo

Esle buy a vista TDi Terra, if you are buying new. Now thats a car that will be around for a lot longer ( at least the car , if not the engine)

Now I understand why you've been asking around if the TDi will survive BSIV

I hope I can use this thread to discuss the Price asked (@Mod: Embarassed  )

@greenhorn: DLG 2008(mid) < 30K odo asking Rs.3.40lakhs!Sealed .Isn't Price a Little Steep for a discontinued Model?(Carwale price assessment at 2.8lakhs)Car is in Very Good Condition Externally.

that is steep! turbo's are available from dec '05 onwards.

Discontinued is a strong word, since the indica DLS , indigo CS TDI etc ( variants of the same car) are still available.

And I think the TDI engine should be around a while longer , since the new 1 ton ace/its passenger version are going to use the 1.4 TDI engine!
