Running: 600-1200/month

Budget: 4.5 (can extend slightly)

BodyStyle: preferably sedan (not decided though)

Concerns:

Durability in long run(4-5 yrs)

Fuel efficiency

Resale value

Maintenance cost

Looks

Comfort

I have dropped idea to buy used car and for new car i have shortlisted following cars

1. Swift(Petrol/Diesel): Both having waiting of 3 & 5 months resp.

2. Indigo CS TDI: Is new version(vista) coming soon??

3. Indica vista TDI: It still has image of a cab ?

deciding between sedan or a hatchback  would depend on the number of long trips with family per year... and the amount of luggage u carry.

Durability :    every car will be hassle free for 4 years or more ,  if well maintained and regular serviced

adding to your option would be Ritz(if u are OK with its shape) , Punto(1.2) and i10

looking for a good resale value than Maruti suzuki  is the way to go...

Swift and ritz got 2 mnths waiting few places..

Indigo CS TDI: Is new version(vista) coming soon??   : its MANZA i guess its  5.5 lacs+

Ritz should be your option if you rear shape seems OK for you

Swift : if you r fine for a wait of 2mnths

Punto (1.2): wont get reslaee value as in maruti but a sure head turner

Indica vista : VFM car but resale value not as maruti

i10 : good resale value VFM

better have a Test drive

Hey thanks for ur response Saneel

Personally i dont like shape of Ritz and i10.

Punto seems nice. I am going to have test drive of Indigo, will see punto also. Btw what is diff b/w punto 1.2 and 1.4, Fuel effiency ?

What is avg of Punto petrol (1.2/1.4)

Jas, From what ive read/seen/experienced I must tell you that tata cars are very unreliable. Anything at any moment can go wrong! I would also advice you to not go for swift (Even though I own one) Hyundai Accent Executive is going for 4.99L in Delhi you can even get great discounts from dealers on it. Do check it out ;)

Accent giving 9-10 in city is not bad i dont think 2-3kms would make any difference overall. Even my swift petrol gives 9 in mumbai.
