Hey guys,
My car was 5 years old and had run around 85k kms, the average in the city was 10 km with the AC switched on . So, we decided to fit in a CNG as we no longer really cared about the performance of the car as it had run a lot. Mind you, the car has been taken care of well and has not ever given us major problems, it actually still did run as if it was new.
We got the BRC CNG kit installed on it along with an Emulator and a Lambda loop system, remember this setup, it has worked well for me and should work for others with the same car, there are people who will tell you not to get the Lambda cause its a ford car and the ECM is super sensitive, but do not listen to them even though I would recommend to you to try out your car without the Lambda for a few days and then get it installed if needed. But then you must find a really good Mechanic.
The car does about 16 kms for one kilo of cng with the ac on in the city, its super cheap. You will need to get your car checked every three months with Lambda system on it. Cause the settings start to deviate a bit and the mileage goes down by a fraction to maybe something like 14.
Now a word on the performance, its awsome, I really dont feel any lack in power once the car is up and running into the third gear, people who are used to the sweet spot between 1500 rpm to 2500 rpm would have to change their gear shifts a bit, You will have to rev up your car to the third gear, i really dont mind it cause it wudnt give you a bad average as the petrol would with such a driving style, change the first two gears at around 2500 rpm and you will be good to go, otherwise your car might give you some jhatkas and it could be bumpy.
Note: It is very important that you get the spark plugs changed every 10000 kms, they must be in top condition for the car to perform well.
