Hondas get very expensive to maintain after four years. Honda engines are good but I won['t call those cars well-built (I have a  well driven one that costs a fortune in replacement parts).

Consider a Corolla if you can get a good deal. But someone's got to know maintenance cost of Toyota as well.

Hyundais run well and are easy to maintain. If you can go for the verna diesel, that's supposedly a good car.

basically looking out for a petrol version as my running would be only 500 - 600 km /pm.

Feeling aprehensive on buying a used vehicle from the above comments and suggestions.

may be would go for Manza Aura+ petrol @ Rs.6.47L OTR Hyderabad.

@ Shekar

I understand what you say. I was hell bent on a scorpio(2nd hand of course, cant afford one from the showroomFrown). But then, i thought why pay for a second hand when i can afford a brand new even though it's not a scorpio. You never know what a car has been subjected to by a previous owner. But when it's a first hand, you have nothing to worry. Any day any time a lower segment new car to a upper segment used carCool. My two cents.

                                                                                                    Cheers.

Hi

I would go for a new hatch any day over a upper segment used car.

Due to the following reason

  • Used car always give u a nasty surprise
  • Higher rate of loan interest for second hand car
  • Very expensive to maintain compared to a new hatch
  • Most used car warranty would have been expired
  • Always a risk factor involved in the used cars
  • Buying a used car is more complicated than buying a new one

Civic has bad Ground clearance, bad head room and hard suspension at back seat.So if you are looking for back seat comfor ,go for  used SX4 ZXI which is extremely good in these aspects.Or else, choose the old model Corolla which will suit you better

If your budget is 6L better go for new sedan, you can also have a look on Aveo 2009 5.49L ex showroom price, with dealer discounts its possible to get in 6L on road for LS variant.
