@ Nipun Bharti, who said any car is perfect? Even the S class has chinks in it's aromour. Yes, different people look at cars differently. I can't accept a 2000 odd kms run SX4 to start rattling when my 70,000 kms run Palio runs as quiet as it did when it was brand new. To add insult to injury, the Palio cost 5 lakhs and the SX4 a shade over 8 lakhs. My point is people are ready to defend rattles in a Maruti but not in any other brand. That is the bone of contention.
Thanks fro bringing up your old Alto which even after two years isnt rattling. Our family had a carb Maruti 800 in 1990's. This was in a small town in Gujarat where we had to constantly use first , second and third gears to drive thorugh the city. Even after 50,000kms the clutch functioned as good as new and there were no rattles. Unfortunately those days are gone. I didn't want to bring this up but we are supplying engine parts to Maruti and have seen the change in Maruti's attitude over the years.
Yes, the Jazz incident is one off. Again, do you think you would have said that if the car in question was a Aveo, Fiesta, Indica or Punto? I hope you get my point. Again, it's not about you. It's about perceptions and attitudes we have towards some manufacturer.
As for EPS, I said I have driven 2 SX4's, 2 Wagon R's and 1 Zen Estilo - all of them darted left or right as soon as the steering was left. The Wagon R guy's never noticed this maybe because they are first time car owners they were just delighted at the light power steering in the car. The Estilo guy said, "Yeh to Maruti hai. Even my Zen in Delhi had this problem. I also complained and got alignment done. Ultimately nothing happened. Just accept it."
When you list down your SX4 likes you dont say anything about steering feedback , NVH or suspension - biggest chinks in the car's armour. Maybe you are magnimous to overlook these things because of ground clearence and better seats. Fact is the suspension of the SX4 is crude and rudimentary - that's why Maruti claims to have re-worked it in the new SX4.
