I am planinng to buy my first car and considering Alto LX. I want to know is power steering is of much use in a small car like Alto. Is it worth to put 20k more for power steering.

Any feedback on maruti dealers in pune please let  me know.

Amit,

I did a mistake feeling power steering is not required in Alto. But it is very essential when you are parking and in rush hour city traffic it reduces your effort on steering.Buy LXI its worth.

Alto is  very peppy and fuel efficient at the same time,so it is the highest selling model by far.I get milage of 20 to 21 in local use ,ac on mostly.Maruti is charging a small amount for the power steering which is very much required in city driving and it is best to opt for the LXI model,it is an excellent investment.

Nipun and Raghu thanks for sharing your experience. I am planning to buy LXi now. I think it is of 2.9 Lacs on road in Pune.

Alto is a very good small car . Power steering is very helpful in city driving & it is worth to pay extra for it. Also it will help you to get better resale value in future.

Alto is a good choice. Economic, nice in looking and even fuel efficient. Go for LXi.

Drive a car with and without power steering and you will know the difference. IMO power steering should be made compulsary.

Life begins at 1900 rpm.

I'm driving the M800 and I completely miss the power steering in city roads. It is really required for making u-turns in our narrow roads.

Also, more importantly, Cars with power steering will have a better re-sale value.

All the best
