Hello everyone....belated Diwali wishes.

I bought Hyundai i10 couple of weeks back. I am still waiting to install music system. After doing some reasearch and looking into my budget, I have ordered for Pioneer DEH-P6100BT. My friend is getting it from US.

But the next big thing for me is speakers. I have absolutely no idea which speakers to buy. I have talked to few ppl and few dealers and they have all suggested me something different. My budget would be 10 k (+2k if I am gonna miss something very good).

So can you please suggest me, what I should buy.

I had couple of questions:

1. Should I go for 3 way speakers or 4 way speakers or there's Pioneer 5 way speakers that have come up?

2. One of the dealer suggested to fit 4 channel amp to get reallllll good sound. Is that really required and would it make a lot of difference in the quality?

I dont know what else to ask. Probably I will ask based on the replies I get.

Thanks guys.

Regards,

Sumanth

Hi everyone,

I am still waiting for your replies. Can someone please help me. I have now got Pioneer DEH-P6100BT HU.

I am yet  to buy speakers (front and rear) and amplifier. My budget for these would 15 - 20 k. I am planning to go for a step by step installation so that I can afford that budget without overloading myself.

So please someone help me here.

Also I would like to know, if I can fit amplifier beneath the seats or I need to sacrifice some of my boot space.

By the way, I am looking for system with decent bass.

Thanks and Regards,

Sumanth

Hey Sumanth

Congrats on your new i10.what variant is it?any way getting to your question, its good in a way that you hadnt ordered for speakers in a hurry because many do not realise that it is the speakers that are ultimately responsible to translate the output from a good HU.In my experience i would suggest you go for a JBL GT Series speakers. They have enough punch(both front and rear) and you will not miss a subwoofer actually. To a large extent the amplification from your HU should be sufficient.I would suggest you install the HU and speakers and after listening you may go for an amp.(along with a Sub).

And about 4,5 way speaker systems-they all are just a marketing hype.Audio frequencies at best can be divided into 3 ranges viz.,Highs,Mids and Lows.So a speaker driver for each range would be sufficient i.e., a 3way system.you can check for yourself by reading the specs of all live sound/concert speakers (and they produce sound at 1000 times more power than our car amps)and that all are 2 way or 3 way systems and nothing more.So you will be definitely be happy with a 3 way system

And sumanth, amplifiers get heated very quickly so they need to be secured in a place where there is enough air flow.Considering a car, under the seat would not be a good idea as it is a very small place without much air flow.

Hi,

I am Siva from Bangalore. I have booked my first Car (i10 Magna 1.2 AT). I have couple of questions here.

1. I am yet to decide on the Audio System Configuration for my Car. Please Advice me on which would be the best configuration.

a. Pioneer 3190 & Hertz DSK 165 & Polk Audio DB 690

b. Pioneer 4150 & Hertz DSK 165 & Hertz DCX 690

2. Immediately after the delivery of car, we are planning to drive to my native which will be a 550 KM Drive. So what precautions have to be taken?

3. Do I need Sunfilm for my car as I am in Bangalore?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Siva
