hello Everybody,

Well, I am buying a new car in the price range of 5.75 to 6.25 lakhs.

I am looking for ample space at rear seats, fuel ecoonomy, cost of maintenance, reliability and resale.

I finally zeroed in on two cars - the Indigo Marina and Fiat Punto.

Marina is extermly spacious. But noisy as compared to Punto. And I understand that the resale value is very low.

Punto has deccent space, smaller than Marina. Better ride than Marina.

Can somebody suggest which car to go for ? I will be drving about 30 kms a day will be taking it out on highway occasionally.

  • Is the DICOR any better than TDI ? Is it worth paying the extra amount ?
  • Hows the ASS of Punto as compared to Tata. I called up a couple of Tata sevice centers (not showrooms) and they said they dont service FIAT cars.
  • Hows the highway driving esperiance of Punto as compared to Marina ?

Well lots of questions.. Thanks a lot for all the help that you can offer.

  • Ass of Fiat is improving day by day.Fiat is sold at main Tata oulets only

Do mention ur city for the location of a good Fiat dealer

  • Hows the highway driving esperiance of Punto as compared to Marina ?
  • Punto ride and handling is the best it class.A league of its own. It has a 5 star safety rating and Marina has a 4 star rating only

    Comparision

    My Punto

Fiat is giving free insurance and dealer is giving free extendend warranty from 10-Oct-2009 to 24-Oct-2009 as a Deewali offer. All those who are booking Punto or taking delivery or those who are considering to buy before Deewali, ask you dealer about this. That is cool 20k discount (12-18k on insurance and 5.5k on extended warranty).

Punto spare are almost neck in neck with swift diesel.

U can get corporate discount upto Rs 6000 to 8000.

Freebies u can get are floor mats, boot mats, teflon coating or antirust coating  and may be sun film.

    Add to that road tax

    Insurance free

2+2 extended warranty is a must Rs 5,500 Free.

Lostics and handling charges Rs 4,500

Get the registration done by ur youself as u will save a lot of money

Get  loan directly as u will save a lot of money.

Axis bank(8%) and SBI are providing good intrest rates. So visit the bank directly for the loan.

The DICOR route would be worth the extra cash compared to the TDi.

The Marina is a small estate and does not directly compare with the Punto(a hatchback). Still as the punto is more relevant in terms of 'newness' of the product.

With a budget of  5.75 to 6.25 lakhs why aren't the sedan being considered?
