i will be gettin my swift VDi in two weeks time...i have decided to upgrade the tyres to 195/60 R15...just happened to talk to a car accessory shopkeeper recently and he says that he is not sure whether the fifth tyre (extra one) with alloy fitted wud fit into its slot inside the car if it were upgraded to 195/60 R15...is that true??? can people wid personal experience share their views on this issue as i personally find that hard to believe as-

1. there is an overall reduction in wheel diameter when compared to the stock ones, and

2. just an increase of 30mm in width when compared to the stock set.

Would that make the tyre+alloy oversized to such a great extent that it actually doesn't fit into the slot alotted to it within the car??? please enlighten me...

Nice thread, sooner or later you would have seen this thread...

Even this question started baffling me,as soon as i came to know people getting upgrading only to four alloys onle...

Can anyone enlighten us,with probably a pictorial truth about the same...!

Well... get the upgrade area clear first.

Usually, when u plan to upgrade, there are some criterias to look into and pick the one according to that. If you do a pukka technical upgrade job, the outer dia of the stock tyre and uypgraded tyre will be maintained same with a minor tollerance to go up or down. Only inside dia/width of the tyre gets changed. Due to this reason, you can very well use the stock tyre in emergency situations along with the other upgraded tyres.

Hope you are clear now.

Dont change the stepny tyre and keep it as it is and use it only during emergencies. SIMPLE

Dont understand why five tyres are being upgraded in the first place?

Wont just changing four tyres be sufficient?

Just OT

I was never warned on the same, and besides it never crossed my mind because it was a typing habit that went unchecked[by me],

Banning someone is in your hands, why should i mind it!
