Hello,

I have come across a used Indigo Marina Diesel LX, that I intend to buy. IT run for 1 lakh KMs. The owner told me that the engine was replaced after 50,000 KM. I looked at the car and it is in good condition. He has quoted a price of Rs. 3,00,000.

Can somebody suggest if its deal ??

Thanks and Regards

What's the model (year/month)?  In any case, the price quoted is too high. Changing engine at 50K is too early & unusual.  Stay away.

Well, its a 2005 model year car.

Thanks for your suggestions. I shall keep it  in mind.

Please let me know of your comments on a purchase of new Indigo Marina, interms of Fuel Economy, Durability, reliability and transmission. I drove the car and found it extremely spacious. I shall be using it for about 20-30Kms a day and occaniously take it out for highway travel (once every three months)

Since the used car is not good, I am thinking on buying a new Indigo Marina (This will stretch my finances but if its worth it I shall go for it)

Yes, a new car is a new car.  By the way, why Marina in particular?  Indigo & Indigo CS are much more successful & priced very competitively.

Hmmm,Price factor-Yes

Resale-Well down to zero...

I would suggest sticking to newer models by any manufacturer ,and can fetch you fair deal of resale after 5 years...

consider indigo cs it is indeed very spacious...

Marina may suit preferences of many - nothing wrong in it.  Yes, if one has no specific reason/inclination, he/she should go for Indigo or Indigo CS - they are priced very competitively & have much better resale value.

Appreciate your Diplomacy and ofcourse every product is produced to suit its target customer base preferences.. But here we are not talking about Marina in general , but a one with a changed engine...

May be I am sounding rude, but thats not the intention.
